LifeWaters is a 501 (c)(3) organization which promotes independence, inclusion, adventure, and healing for Veterans and Civilians with mobility impairments by providing camaraderie, training, and certification in adaptive scuba diving for divers and buddies.

SDI Scubility promotes the necessary skills and techniques associated with teaching, assisting and supervising disabled divers.

HSA is dedicated to assuring that people with disabilities are give the same opportunity to receive quality training, certification and dive adventures as the able bodied population.

LifeWaters program is designed to help improve the lives of our disabled Veterans by offering discover scuba and scuba certifications through Scuba Diving International (SDI) (Scubility Program) and Handicap Scuba Association (HSA) as part of recreational water therapy. The program is run by dedicated staff volunteers to include SCI therapists, doctors, nurses, veterans and civilians who are passionate about helping our Veterans in the sport of diving.

OPEN WATER CERTIFICATIONS

The SDI Open Water Scuba Diver course is designed to give you the necessary skills to safely conduct open water dives. This course is the key to start exploring dive destinations around the globe or even in your backyard.

ON-LINE TRAINING

Start Learning to Dive Today SDI makes it possible for you to complete all of the academic requirements for your entry-level diver certification on line.

ADVANCED SCUBA DIVER

By earning the SDI Advanced Scuba Diver certification you will have increased abilities and comfort in the water and be ready for the next step, SDI Rescue Diver.

Designed to give physically disabled divers the necessary skills and techniques used to conduct open water dives in conditions similar to their training without the direct supervision of a SDI Scubility Instructor.

SCUBILITY DIVER PROGRAM
RESCUE DIVER

The SDI Rescue Diver course is designed to develop the knowledge and necessary skills to effectively perform diver rescues and assist and administer the necessary first aid in the event of an emergency.

LIFEWATERS BUDDY TRAINING

LifeWaters Dive Buddy course provides more than the typical book learning,  LW"s  goes beyond the required training with a fun sense of learning and helps dive buddies to learn from actual disabled divers during pool and open water sessions.

There are many reasons to love scuba diving. Some people just love being in the water, or experiencing the thrill and adventure that diving is. Some find it to be a relaxing escape, but almost everyone agrees that exploring our oceans and coming face-to-face with some of the world’s most interesting marine life imaginable.

We want to extend a big thank to our entire LifeWaters family of Dive Buddies, non-diver buddies, travel support, dive shops locally/nationally and international, Medical support divers and veteran support groups that help provide the needed support to allow us to provide a valuable service to our disabled veterans and civilian population.  Lifewaters spotlights various individuals or organizations that provide support to our program.

Our dive team includes divers from across the United States and also overseas.   We are very proud to have team members who are also trained in rehabilitation services such as Therapist, Nurses, MD's and EMT's.  We are also honored to have many of divers who are advanced and professionally trained to provide buddy diver services to our disabled divers.  Many of LifeWaters Dive Team members are also Veterans.  LW's board members would like to extend a hello to all that are interested in our dive program.

Matt and Missy Wilson have been huge supporters of LifeWaters over the past few years.  They have not only supported the program by donating  new dive equipment for our veterans to use, but also providing guidance with steering LW's to it's 501(c)3 status.

Howard has been a large supporter of LifeWaters since 2011.  Working on the helping with fundraising and providing connections within the community, Howard has had positive impact in how LW's will move forward in the future.  He has also provided the first fund-raiser for the non-profit with a billiards tournament taking enough funds to sponsor one disabled veteran to Cozumel.

LifeWaters would like to thank Vince owner of Saguaro Scuba and Roberta owner of Scuba Shack/Village Tan Kah for their collective support of our Disabled Veteran/Civilian scuba program by providing first class dive operations for not only our disabled divers but LW's dive team.

  • Cozumel 2013 Highlights

    LifeWaters travels to Mexico for the second time and doubles in size from 4 quadriplegic spinal cord injured scuba divers and 6 LW's Dive Team members in 2012 to over 10 disabled divers and 30 + LW's Dive Team members.

  • Cozumel 2014 Highlights

    LifeWaters heads to Cozumel this year in August and traveling with the largest group yet.  The longest traveler was a SCI Veteran from London England.  Our trip maxed out in only 3 short years to 15 Wheelchair users with over 50+ LW's Volunteer Dive Team Members traveling from multiple states to provide a first class dive experience for all our disabled veterans and civilians scuba divers.  Many of our volunteer dive team members where veterans themselves

  • LifeWaters Travels to the Atlanta Georgia Aquarium 2014

    LifeWaters disabled veterans, dive team and family members had a unbelievable experience diving with gentle giants at the Atlanta Georgia Aquarium.   The Diver Immersion Program lead by Recreation Therapist Susan Olglesby and her wonderful dive team, all of whom are trained to be dive buddies for physically challenged divers.  Family members where escorted throughout the day to watch their love ones SCUBA while looking into the largest aquarium in the world..  and with all this, every diver, dive team member and family member costs where covered by grant monies that Susan and here team works hard to attain to help veterans have this experience  .. LW's travels back early spring and fall 2015...
