Diving Into 2025: Training, Growth, and New Opportunities with LifeWaters St. Louis

The new year is already off to a strong start for the LifeWaters St. Louis team, and we couldn’t be more excited about the momentum building within our diving community. 2025 has brought with it renewed focus on safety, skill-building, and expanding our reach to bring the healing power of scuba diving to even more Veterans, First Responders, and Civilians with disabilities.

Safety First: Refresher Training for Staff and Buddies So far this year, we’ve conducted several refresher and safety training sessions designed to keep our current Dive Buddies and staff sharp and confident. These trainings are essential to ensuring every diver we serve—no matter their ability level—receives the safest and most empowering experience possible.
These sessions have included emergency response drills, dive planning reviews, and Scubility-specific support techniques. Our team continues to uphold the highest standards in adaptive scuba diving, creating a strong foundation of trust and camaraderie in every dive.

Welcoming a New Class of LifeWaters Dive Buddies One of the most exciting developments this year has been the induction of a brand-new class of Dive Buddies! These passionate and committed individuals are currently working toward their Scubility Buddy Certifications—a specialized training program developed through Scuba Diving International (SDI). Once certified, these buddies will be ready to support our adaptive divers in the water, helping bring independence, confidence, and joy to every dive.
Their dedication ensures that LifeWaters can continue to offer meaningful underwater experiences while providing the support structure our divers deserve.
